Samosir Island, Unique and Preferred by Tourists

Samosir Island in North Sumatra is a very unique island because it is a volcanic island in the middle of Lake Toba. Its height is 1,000 meters above sea level. This is what makes this island a concern for domestic and foreign tourists.

Getting to Samosir Island can be done in the morning by buying ferry tickets for IDR 10,000 per person. And, while waiting for the ship's departure, we can hunt photos around the lake, capturing the beauty and breadth of Lake Toba.

Aside from being a tourist spot, it turns out that this lake is the foundation of life for the surrounding community. They use Lake Toba water as the main spring in their daily lives. There are two types of ferries that serve the route to Samosir Island, namely ferries that carry passengers only and ferries that carry four-wheeled vehicles

If you use a car, you will ride a second type of ferry (which transports four-wheeled vehicles). During the crossing, we will be treated to a beautiful natural view of the lake, blue sky, and cool air. The weather of Lake Toba can even hypnotize visitors so that they feel comfortable lingering here.

A car is a very important means of transportation for families who want to get around the island. In Samosir there is no public transportation. You must rent a vehicle in the form of a bicycle or motorcycle if you want to take a walk. Motorcycle rental costs between Rp. 70,000 to Rp. 80,000 per day.

On this island there are also inn inns that some do not have telephone numbers. To stay overnight, we can directly book lodging by go show. If lodging is full, we can ask for help from local residents or hotel owners to find houses that can be rented as a place to stay. The inn tariff is around IDR 100,000 - IDR 150,000. Travelers rarely stay in Samosir.

However, if you are traveling backpacker, when you arrive on Samosir Island you can rent an ojek or spend the night there.
